Check anything

Check a text message, link or bank account

Not every scam arrives by email. Paste a text message, a link, a domain or a bank account into Check anything, and Fromensics checks it on your device.

Check anything

Open the Fromensics side panel. Check anything is at the top: “Paste a message, link, domain, or bank account.” Three examples show what it takes:

ExampleWhat you paste
A text messageYour parcel is on hold. Pay the £1.99 redelivery fee within 24 hours: parcel-redelivery.example/pay
A linkhttps://sterlingcooper-partners.example/invoices/1048
A bank accountLT12 1000 0111 0100 1000

It asks what the text doesn’t say

A pasted message doesn’t carry a sender or headers, so Fromensics asks a few short questions, with tap-to-answer choices:

You can stop at any point with Answer now. The answer so far is shown as you go, and See the full answer opens the report. The footer reads “Pasted text · checked on this device”.

Pasted bank account

Fromensics can’t tell who owns an account.

Before you pay it, confirm it with them on a number you already have.

When you see it: you paste only a bank account. Fromensics checks the IBAN’s format and country, but never shows a pasted account as vouched for.

Right-click on any site

Select suspicious text, or right-click a link, and choose Check with Fromensics. The side panel opens and checks it right away. Only what you selected is handed over, not the rest of the page.

Questions

Does it read my text messages or WhatsApp?

No. It checks only what you paste or right-click. Nothing is read from your phone or other apps.

Is a pasted link opened?

No. Fromensics reads the link in code. It goes online only if you choose a lookup, and then it sends the domain, not what you pasted.
