On-device AI

Ask about an email, answered on your device

Fromensics can use Chrome’s built-in AI, Gemini Nano, to explain its answer and to answer your questions about an email. It runs on your computer. It explains the answer; it never decides it.

Ask about this email

Every report has an Ask about this email row. Tap a suggestion or type your own question:

Who really sent this?Is this bank account new?Write a reply asking them to confirmWhat should I do?

Answers are labelled Gemini Nano in Chrome · on this device. Without the AI, suggestions still work and say Answered from the checks · on this device. Questions outside the email get “I can only answer from what Fromensics found in this email.”

A reply draft only ever goes to the address you already have for the sender. If Fromensics has no address other than the one the email came from, it says so and doesn’t draft one.

Questions

Does the AI send my email anywhere?

No. Gemini Nano runs inside Chrome on your computer. The email isn’t sent to Fromensics or to an AI service.

Why isn’t it available on my computer?

Chrome decides where its built-in AI can run. If it can’t, Fromensics works the same without it: the rules still check every email.
